Role play events come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Planning such an event should be fun and rewarding but never scary. And a successful event will be fun for the organizers as well as for the attendees. Over the years though I have heard many people say things like “I don’t know how to organize an event” or “I’m no good at that sort of thing” or “I’m not creative enough”. I’m hoping that with this article I can help others see how easy and fun planning an event can be.

Let’s start at the very beginning of the process and follow it all the way through to the end.

I had almost forgotten how sweet the air was in Mulgore. How soothing the wind blowing through my mane could be. So long had sulfur been burning my nose and clinging to my fur I was unsure I would ever smell sweetness again. The time away from my homelands bothered me, and I knew I would have to go back to that far away place, but for a brief period I was happy just to see my own people again.

While I always want to do my own thing and don’t want to put out the impression that I’m snitching ideas off others, I do want to plug Big Bear Butt’s blog today.

Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the little crap we lose sight of what matters. Thanks B for the reminder.

After so many days in Hellfire, I would not have believed this strange world of Outland capable of having life anywhere. I was proven wrong when I traveled to Zangarmarsh. I was amazed by what I saw. I have lost track of the days here in Hellfire. The light of day is longer here. It is difficult to tell if it is from the sun or the strange swirling masses I glimpse through the haze of the sky. I cannot feel the land. I cannot sense life here. The fel power seeps through this place corrupting even stone.

As you may know, I am primarily an Alliance player. I do have two characters Horde side, but only one of them has any significant levels. My main is Alliance, as are several other characters I play regularly. My guild is Alliance. Most of my friends are Alliance. Subsequently, I have few contacts on the Horde side of the fence.

The air in Hellfire dries my throat and eyes. The stench of sulfur burns the nose. How anyone could survive here for any length of time is beyond me. Even the chicken seems irritated and restless. I think her sand fleas left for a more pleasant clime.

From Orgrimmar I traveled to Stonard. It seemed the right direction to go. At the small post in the Swamp of Sorrows there was a sense of urgency in the air. They had no work for me, and little time to spare for explanation, but I was directed to the Blasted Lands. That barren wasteland where the Dark Portal looms over the landscape.
